Adopted Rules: Spe 602 and Spe 607.01

The Speech Language Pathologist and Hearing Care Providers Governing Board has recently adopted Spe 602 and Spe 607.01 rules which clarifies definitions and direction and supervision of Speech-Language Assistants. These rules will become effective March 9, 2024. 

Spe 602.01 clarifies definitions and has included a definition of "Clinical Time."

Spe 607.01 now includes the language:
(d) For speech-language assistants with 5 years of experience or more, the amount of supervision shall be at the discretion of the supervising speech-language pathologist, with no less than one hour of direct supervision and one hour of indirect supervision per week.

Please note that the current rules are in effect and must be adhered to until the recently adopted rules go into effect on March 9, 2024.
