Continuing Education (CE) Requirements

Yes. Courses offered by the following providers are automatically approved:
Courses sponsored by a school or college accredited by CCE or any other national or regional accrediting agency approved by the United States Department of Education are automatically approved if the course is offered on the following topic(s):
Emergency and first aid courses sponsored by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association are automatically approved, provided that no more than 4 hours shall be credited. |

CE Providers
Continuing education shall be offered by approved institutions or be approved by the Board.
Approved institutions are:
- International Chiropractor Association;
- The American Chiropractic Association
- Any state-chartered chiropractic school or college; or
- Providers of Approved Continuing Education (PACE);
- Courses sponsored by a school or college accredited by CCE or any other national or regional accrediting agency approved by the United States Department of Education are automatically approved if the course is offered on the following topic(s):
- Chiropractic adjusting technique;
- Chiropractic philosophy;
- Analysis of vertebral subluxation;
- Chiropractic ethics and jurisprudence;
- Diagnostic imaging;
- Physical diagnosis;
- Clinical laboratory diagnosis;
- Orthopedics;
- Neurology;
- Emergency and first aid procedures;
- Nutritional physiology;
- Physiological therapeutics and rehabilitation;
- Electrodiagnostic procedures;
- Public health and safety; and
- Risk management and record keeping.
- Emergency and first aid courses sponsored by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association are automatically approved, provided that no more than 4 hours shall be credited.
If the sponsor is not an approved institution, the sponsor may apply for approval to sponsor an approved continuing education through CE Broker.
- Application Requirements. During the application process, the sponsor shall submit the following:
- Curriculum vitae of the course instructors(s)
- Any lecture notes or other material to be distributed to the students taking the course
- The name of the course sponsor;
- The title of the course;
- A description of the subject matter and topics of the course;
- The beginning and ending hours and dates of the course;
- The location of the course;
- The name of the instructor(s);
- A list of the textbooks, materials and equipment to be used by the instructor(s) or the students; and
- A list of products, merchandise or equipment promoted by, or sold through, the course by the instructor(s) or the course sponsor.
- Standards for Approval.
- Courses shall contribute to the growth of the professional knowledge and competence in the practice of chiropractic.
- Courses shall feature subjects and topics, instructors, textbooks, and equipment that reflect a current level of chiropractic education and research.
- Courses shall include procedures for checking attendance at each session.
- Courses shall assign no more than 10 hours of credit for a full day session.
- Courses shall not be courses in general business skills or practices.
- Courses shall not be vehicles for the marketing of products, merchandise, or equipment.
- Courses shall provide attendees with a transcript or certificate of completion.
- Course shall consist primarily of instruction in the following:
- Chiropractic adjusting technique;
- Chiropractic philosophy;
- Analysis of vertebral subluxation;
- Chiropractic ethics and jurisprudence;
- Diagnostic imaging;
- Physical diagnosis;
- Clinical laboratory diagnosis;
- Orthopedics;
- Neurology;
- Emergency and first aid procedures;
- Nutritional physiology;
- Physiological therapeutics and rehabilitation;
- Electrodiagnostic procedures;
- Public health and safety; and
- Risk management and record keeping.
