Requirements for licensing by the Board of Licensed Dietitians.
Initial License
Requirements to Apply for Dietitian Licensure in New Hampshire
- Submit an online application and pay the required license fee ($110.00)
- Hold a baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the US and complete a major course of study in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, dietetics, public health nutrition, or food systems management;
- Successfully complete a dietetic internship of no less than 900 hours, pre-professional practice program, or coordinated program with documented experience in the practice of dietetics under supervision of a registered, certified, or licensed dietitian; and
- Successfully pass the examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Applicant holding RD card on/before 12-31-2000
- Completed application including response to ethical questions
- Passport-style photograph
- Letter verifying RD status sent from CDR directly to the Board
- Fee in the amount of $110 to Treasurer – State of New Hampshire
- Applicant holding RD card on/after 1-1-2001
- All of the above PLUS:
- Transcript from school that grants highest relevant degree sent directly to the Board
- Supervisor of internship verified 900 hours+ in 1) pre-professional practice program, or 2) coordinate program sent directly to the Board
Renewal License
License renewals may be completed online or in written form. Renewals that use the downloaded form must be submitted to the Board for review and include the following:
- Completed application including response to ethical questions
- List of Board-approved continuing education credits totaling at least 20 hours within previous two (2) years
- Fee in the amount of $110 to Treasurer – State of New Hampshire
- Reinstatement fee of $150.00 required in the event of late submission
