What do I need for my Code Update and where do I send it?

You need to complete the current cycle. Code cycle information can be found on the home page for the Electricians Board: Electricians' Board | NH Office of Professional Licensure and Certification. You can email your certificate to: oplclicensing4@oplc.nh.gov. Please include your full name and license number when submitting your information via email.

How do I verify my license or request a license verification?

My license has been expired for more than one year, but less than three years, how do I get back to active status?

Journeyman & Masters: 

If your New Hampshire license has been for expired more than 3 years, you will need to contact us at OPLClicensing4@oplc.nh.gov regarding the additional requirements to reobtain your license. 
 

 

How will I receive my license?
 

You will receive your license via the email address you indicated on your application. To ensure that the license is routed directly to your inbox, please add the following email address to your contacts: nh.licenses@doit.nh.gov. If you cannot locate the email in your main inbox, please check all other folders.
 

How long will it take for my license to be issued?             
 

We process all applications in the order in which they are received. Please allow 10 business days after we receive your application for license issuance or the first request for additional information via email.

Submitting a completed application and all supporting documentation for the license will help decrease any delays in the licensing process.

Submitting an incomplete application or not providing all required documents will delay the licensing process. If your application is missing any required documentation, we will reach out to you via the email address you provided on your application.
 

Why isn’t my license number recognized when I’m trying to renew?
 

Do not add A, J, or M to your license number, the portal will only accept numeric characters.

You can also renew in the office at our first come first served kiosk. We are open Monday-Friday from 8 AM – 4 PM excluding state holidays or call us for assistance over the phone at 603-271-2152.
 

My license has expired, how do I renew it?
 

If your license has been expired for less than one year, please complete the reinstatement application found on your application page and submit the reinstatement fee: Applications for Electricians | NH Office of Professional Licensure and Certification.

If your license has been expired for one year or more, you will need to complete the initial application, pay the license fee, and any requirements.
 

Do I need to have a New Hampshire Electrician license to work in this state?
 

Yes, you will need to have an active New Hampshire license to work in this state.

Licensing FAQs

When will my License expire?

Beginning on July 15, 2023, licenses issued will expire two years from the date of issuance.

Do I need a registration code to renew my license online?

A registration code is required if this is your first time renewing online and you have not created an online account or you have a created an online account but do not remember your user name.

Your registration code is provided with your renewal notifications. If you do not have a renewal notification or do not have a valid email address on file with OPLC and need a registration code, contact CustomerSupport@oplc.nh.gov.

Will I receive a notification when my license needs to be renewed?

Yes. Notifications for renewal are typically emailed two times prior to the license expiration date. An expired notice will also be emailed 30 days after the expiration date. The email address used for setting up your account will receive the renewal notifications.

How do I report a change of address and other personal information?

Log into your online account to change your personal information such as address, email address and phone number.
