  • Benefits and Contraindications of Massage
  • Kinesiology
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Joint Movement
  • Allied Bodyworker Techniques
  • Communicable Disease Control
  • Hygiene or Sanitary Practices
  • Ethical or Legal Aspects of Massage Practice
  • Management, Administration, or Supervision of a Business Practice (max 3 hours for this subject)

Continuing education shall be:

  • Sponsored by a professional association that specializes in massage education;
  • Sponsored by a post-secondary institution;
  • Instructed by a provider who has been approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork; or
  • Instructed by a provider who has been approved by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards.

Ways to earn CEs: Categories of CEs (Plc 905.02)

  • Attending or teaching a course with an instructor in real time (in person or remote)
  • Home study programs including books, audio, video, or computer programs.
    • Must include passage of a written examination.  Plc 905.02(c).
  • Publishing a book or peer-reviewed article (Max 6 hours per book or peer-reviewed article).
  • Publishing a non peer-reviewed article (Max 3 hours per article)
