Continuing Education (CE) Requirements

License Type: Nursing Home Administrator
CE Hours Total:  

  • 40 hours, if licensed in New Hampshire less than 15 years; 
  • 30 hours if licensed in New Hampshire 15 years or more
CE Cycle 2 years (corresponds with license timeframe)

CE Providers
Continuing education courses shall be approved by the Board.
Courses shall be sponsored by:

  • An accredited college or university
  • A recognized state or national professional association
  • A recognized state or national trade association 
  • An organization endorsed by the American College of Healthcare Administrators
  • An organization endorsed by the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards

Course Approval

  • To obtain approval, the course sponsor shall submit the following information through the CE Broker platform:
    • Its learning objectives;
    • Detailed curriculum;
    • Description of instructional materials;
    • Bibliographies;
    • Resumes of instructors and administrators involved;
    • Evaluation methods;
    • Credits awarded or clock hours of instruction;
    • Record keeping of attendance; 
    • Reporting procedures; and
    • Certifying officer.

Standards for Approval.  

  • The information supplied indicates persons attending the program shall have their knowledge of nursing home administration enhanced.
