CE Hours Total=24 hours

  • At least 12 hours shall relate directly and primarily to the clinical application of physical therapy
  • The remaining hours shall relate to general physical therapy practice

Categories of CEs (Phy 406.01(g); Phy 406.02 – Ph 406.18)

  • Academic instruction in physical therapy
    • 5 contact hours per each credit hour of academic course work
  • Non-academic courses, seminars, conferences, and workshops
    • 1 clock hour of attendance = 1 CE
  • Facility-based physical therapy in-service training
    • 1 clock hour of participation = 1 CE, max 8 CE per cycle
  • Formal mentored independent study
    • 2 clock hours of formal mentored independent study = 1 CE, max 8 CE per cycle
  • Direct supervision of a physical therapist or physical therapist student
    • > 48 hours of clinical education supervision per student = 2 CE per student, max 8 CE per cycle
  • Supervision of licensees holding conditional licenses
    • Supervision of 1 licensee = 2 CE, max 8 CE per cycle
  • Publication of writing related to physical therapy
    • 1 Book = 12 CE, max 2 published writings, max credit for 2 published writings per cycle
    • 1 peer-reviewed chapter of a book or article = 6 CE, max credit for 2 published writings per cycle
    • 1 non-peer reviewed chapter or article – 4 CE, max credit for 2 published writings
  • Professional presentations relating to physical therapy
    • 1 clock hour of presentation = 2 CE, max 8 CE per cycle
  • Participation in a physical therapy research project
    • 4 clock hours spent on research project = 1 CE, max 8 CE per cycle
  • Participating in work of professional boards, committees, and agencies
    • Each board, committee, or agency served = 2 CE, max 4 CE per cycle
  • Teaching physical therapy
    • 1 clock hour of teaching = 2 CE, max 8 CE per cycle
  • Receipt of infection control education, basic life support courses, facility onboarding, orientation, HIPPA training, and annual training
    • 1 clock hour of education = 1 CE, max 2 CE per cycle
  • Journal study
    • Study of journal article dated within preceding 5 years = 4 CE, max 4 CE per cycle
  • New Hampshire jurisprudence assessment module
    • Jurisprudence examination = 2 CE
  • Specialty certification examination
    • Each specialty examination successfully completed within 2 year renewal cycle = 24 CE
  • Clinical residency program or fellowship program
    • 1 clock hour of participation in clinical residency program or fellowship program = 1 CE, max 24 CE per cycle
  • Clinical mentoring of a physical therapist in accredited residency or fellowship program
    • > 100 hours of clinical mentor for each resident or fellow = 4 CE per resident or fellow, max 12 CE per cycle
