Nurse Agencies

In 2023, the legislature passed SB 149, establishing a requirement for nurse agencies seeking to do business in New Hampshire to register with the Office of Professional Licensure and Certification. Nurse agencies are “any individual, firm, corporation, partnership, or other legal entity that employs, assigns or refers nurses or licensed nursing assistants to a health care facility on a per diem or temporary basis for a fee.” RSA 326-M:1, I.

The rules implementing SB 149 are effective May 6, 2024. Accordingly, as of that date, OPLC will accept applications for registration. A list of registered nurse agencies can be found on the OPLC’s licensing lookup feature.
